The Cabernet is one of the worlds best red wines. The grapes for this wine are grown all over the world, The skin on the grapes are very durable and are able to adapt to different climates but prefers warmer climates. The Cabernet Sauvignon originated in Bordeaux region of France. Most red wine grapes are either red or purple while the Cabernet Sauvignon is blueish and easy to spot on a vine. When serving this fine wine Cabernet, you will want to open it and let it breath for about 15 minutes, serve at room temperature, and pour into a wine glass with a wide opening, this way you can taste more of the wines flavor. If you don’t let the wine breathe it will not be as full and won’t include as rich a flavor.
A fine wine Cabernet can cost anywhere from $20 up to over $1000.00, this depends on the vintage of the wine. Vintage means the year the wine was made. The 1997 Cabernet is one of the best because of the weather that year that was good for the grapes. This type of wine is best served with red meats such as steak or lamb chops, creamy heavy dishes, mild to moderate cheeses and dishes with black pepper in them. It is recommended to drink the wine within 3 days after opening because it can start to lose its taste.
